From Glasgow: Our journey starts with the short drive to Stirling where we will get a good view of majestic Stirling Castle and the nearby Wallace Monument.

There is a stop for morning coffee in the delightful Victorian resort of Pitlochry before we travel through the dramatic scenery of Glen Garry to reach the wilderness of the Cairngorm National Park.

From Dalwhinnie we will leave the main highway and head for Glen Spean. This is "Monarch of the Glen” country. It was here that the popular BBC TV series was filmed. You’ll get a good view of Ardverikie House – Glenbogle in the series – standing proudly beside Loch Lagan.

At Spean Bridge we enter the Great Glen whose three lochs offer spectacular vistas at every turn. Firstly Loch Lochy then Loch Oich and lastly Loch Ness. We will stop in the pretty little village of Fort Augustus, our gateway to Scotland's largest and most famous loch. Here we can have an relaxing stroll by the lochside or enjoy a cruise on the loch - could that shadow be the monster?

After our visit to Loch Ness we will travel to Fort William, which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis - Britain's tallest mountain. A real highlight is our time in haunting Glen Coe, the "Glen of Weeping". In 1692 40 of the resident MacDonald clan were massacred in cold blood by the Campbells for not forswearing the Jacobite cause. It is said that you can still hear their cries! We’ll make a stop in this awe-inspiring place so that you can marvel at the natural beauty of the glen for yourself.

The barren wilderness of Rannoch Moor extends for some 50 square miles and is one of the most desolate and unspoilt areas in Europe. Our descent of the Black Mount will afford wonderful views of Loch Tulla before we arrive in the little community of Tyndrum.

The "bonnie, bonnie" banks of Loch Lomond are our next treat. Watch out for Ben Lomond (3,194 feet) towering above us on the opposite banks of the loch. We'll get good views of the River Clyde as we make our way into Glasgow and journey's end.
