Kinnoull Hill for a magnificent view of Perth and the Tay
Valley. Evening: collect cycles and equipment, route briefing. |

Day 2 - Perth to Dunkeld
Distance: 25ml(40km)
Cycle two miles from Perth to
visit Scone Palace, a treasure house of furniture, ivories,
fine porcelain, needlework and the unique Vernis Martin. From
there you cycle north through the rolling farmland of Perthshire
to the historic Cathedral town of Dunkeld, situated on the
banks of the River Tay. It has a peaceful character and charmingly
restored eighteenth century houses forming a small Square.
Cathedral Street leads from there to the partly restored Cathedral
construction of which began in 1318.

Day 3 - Dunkeld to Pitlochry
 |
Distance: 19ml(30km)
There are fine views of the fast flowing Rivers Tay and
Tummel as you journey to the busy Victorian resort town
of Pitlochry. Visit the Dam and Fish Ladder and take the
chance to taste the “Water of Life” on a visit
to Blair Atholl Distillery or Scotland’s smallest
Distillery - Edradour. Six miles north of Pitlochry is
Blair Castle with its 32 fully furnished rooms of fine
furniture, paintings and armour. |
Day 4 - Pitlochry to Glamis
Distance: 31ml(50km)
Cycle over the Moulin Moors, through forests and glens,
pass the small town of Kirriemuir and reach Glamis Castle,
family home of the Earls of Strathmore and a royal residence
since 1372. The Castle contains magnificent rooms with a
wide range of historic pictures, furniture, porcelain and
tapestries.

Day 5 - Glamis to Dundee
 |
Distance: 17ml(27km)
Travel through
the small villages and fertile farming land of the
Vale of Strathmore over the Sidlaw Hills to the city
of Dundee. Still a thriving port it has two historic
ships, RS Discovery, famous for its role in Arctic
Exploration and the oldest wooden ship afloat, the
Frigate Unicorn.

Day 6 - Dundee to St Andrews
Distance: 15ml(24km)
Cross the River Tay and continue round the coast with a
little time away from the tarmac on the tracks of Tentsmuir
Forest. St Andrews, once the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland
is now better know as the “Home of Golf”. Visit
the ruined Castle and Cathedral or take a stroll on the wide
expanse of the golden West Sands.

Day 7 - St Andrews to Perth
 |
Distance: 35ml(56km)
On your way through Fife visit Falkland Palace and Gardens,
set in the heart of a unique medieval village. It was the
country residence and hunting lodge of eight Stuart monarchs
and has an exceptionally beautiful Chapel Royal. Perhaps
take tea in Auchtermuchty before climbing the hill to Pitmedden
Forest and continuing down into the Tay Valley to reach Perth. |

Booking Conditions
1. RESERVATIONS Subject to availability your booking
will be confirmed when we receive your Booking Form together with
a deposit of 20% of the total tour cost. If the balance of the
full holiday price is not received by the due date we reserve the
right to cancel your booking and apply cancellation charges as
in Paragraph 2 below. When bookings are made less than five weeks
before the start of your holiday full payment must be made when
booking. We accept payment in Sterling or Euros. Credit card payments(Mastercard,Visa,American
Express)with a 1% additional fee to offset bank charges.
2.CANCELLATIONS must always be notified in writing and charges
are calculated from the date of receipt as follows:
Up to 28 days prior to holiday date:- 20% of total cost
21 to 28 days prior to holiday date:- 40% of total cost
14 to 20 days prior to holiday date:- 60% of total cost
1 to 13 days prior to holiday date:- 100% of total cost 3. SECURITY: Scottish Cycling Holidays is a member of the majority
of the Regional Tourist Boards in Scotland and also Activity Scotland,
the main organisation of activity holiday providers. It adheres
to their codes of practice. As a member of the Association of Bonded
Tour Organisers Trust Limited(ABTOT), an association approved by
the Department of trade and Industry, this company has provided
a
bond to meet the the requirements of the Package Travel, Package
Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992. This bond provides
security for money paid over by you and your repatriation in the
event of
this company's insolvency.
