Tour around Scotland

Accommodation Information

This article provides you with information on how accommodation works on the tours.

Day Tours

None of our day tours include accommodation, as you would expect. They leave in the morning and return at the end of the day allowing you to disembark and return to your hotel in good time.

Accommodation for the Car Tours

All of our car tours include accommodation within the price and during the booking process you can choose between a range of different accommodation styles and prices. We try to accommodate you according to your booking request, where this turns out to be impossible, we will notify you and recommend alternative options for you.

Extended Coach Tours

The extended coach tours come in two flavours: with accommodation included and excluded.

Where the accommodation is included, the price reflects that fact and you don't need to do anything other than turn up on the day. We both book and pre-pay for the accommodation.

For those coach tours where the accommodation price is excluded, you will have a choice of a number of different accommodation styles which will be booked on your behalf by the tour company. You will pay for the accommodation yourself on arrival.  The choices are as follows: Hostel, B&B standard, B&B en/suite and Hotel (3 or 4 star).

Approximate costs are per person per night:

  • Youth Hostel: £18-£22,
  • Bed & Breakfast: £35-£55,
  • Hotel: £65+.
  • Single supplement may apply.

Please be advised, most accommodation providers only accept cash payments, and will not accept debit/credit cards as methods of payment.

During the booking process, we will ask you what type of accommodation you would like booked for you. We will pre-book this and you will pay the accommodation provider on arrival. Most accommodation providers do not act set debit or credit cards so we recommend that you pay in cash.

Depending upon location, accommodation may be located in slightly different places, but we try as best as we can to keep everybody as close together as possible. Where your accommodation is slightly further out, we can advise on taxis. This situation usually arises when customers are making late bookings and accommodation options are limited as a result.

Our drivers will have all the details of your accommodation so that they can pick you up in the morning. You don't need to worry about getting lost as we will look after you.

Some More Details of your Accommodation:

Most of our guests will stay in either a bed-and-breakfast or a hostel. Most of you will be familiar with the general layout of hostels, and those of you who choose them will probably be well aware of the general nature of the accommodation. Most people who choose hostel do so for reasons of price as they represent the cheapest accommodation available. Hostels are great fun, but they are not for everyone. If you need privacy, then we recommend that you choose a bed-and-breakfast.

The standard accommodation type in B&B's is ensuite which means that the room has showering and toilet facilities within the bedroom. Bed and breakfasts as the name suggests not only includes your accommodation but also a hearty Scottish breakfast to get you started.
